Newly-appointed Nagaland minister resigns

Kohima: Newly-appointed state school education minister CM Chang of the Naga People's Front-led Democratic Alliance of Nagaland has resigned from his post, officials said on Wednesday.

Chang had submitted his resignation on March 14, state assembly speaker Chotisuh Sazo said.

Chang resigned in order to avoid a Lok Sabha byelection, Sazo said, adding that Chang's resignation has been accepted.

He was the lone MP from Nagaland.
