A Nigerian man was arrested on Thursday for drug trafficking by the anti narcotics cell of Goa police and narcotics worth Rs 4.50 lakh were seized from him in the outskirts of the capital city.
Ubanozie Victor Izuchukwu, 32, was found in the illegal possession of over 3kgs of charas.
"According to our informant, Izuchukwu was to deliver drugs to his prospective customer near a hotel at Caranzalem. A trap was laid and he was caught red-handed," DIG O P Mishra told reporters.
The alleged peddler was earlier caught in a previous narcotics raid at Anjuna. He was subsequently released on bail and the case is pending trial.
More than 10 Nigerian were arrested last year for allegedly peddling drugs in the state. The North Goa police began cracking down on the notorious Nigerians last year. Several others have been arrested for overstaying, fake visa and brawl incidents.
