Nine persons were reportedly burnt alive and another was shot dead at the Kalsi Bihari camp in Mirpur, Bangladesh, following a clash Saturday morning.

Of the nine burnt alive, eight belonged to one family.

Their tin roofed houses were set on fire following a series of clashes between locals and people of Bihari origin.

The tenth person killed was identified as 30-year-old Azad.

According to the Daily Star newspaper, Azad was declared dead at the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

The daily said that clashes ensued after Fazr prayers following an argument over firecracker explosion on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat, and added that three people were still in a critical state and receiving treatment at the DMCH.

The local administration is trying to bring the situation under control. (ANI)
