Nine killed as Pune driver goes berserk

Pune, Jan 25 (IBNS) A Pune state transport bus driver in a fit of anger let loose his vehicle on the road on Wednesday morning killing at least nine people and injuring nearly 25.

Santosh Mane, in his early thirties, took out the bus with no passengers and then for nearly half an hour, went on a rampage as it hit one vehicle after another and ran over pedestrian till a police chase ended the dance of death and the man was arrested.

Mane had taken out the bus from the Swargate bus depot and then went on the rampage.

Reports said he was overpowered by a college student finally after police fired at him to stop him.

The cause of his anger is not yet known.

Police is yet to find out his mental state.
