Boston, Apr 18 (IBNS) The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said no arrests have been made in connection to the twin bomb blasts in the United States that killed at least three people and wounded about 144 near the finish line of the Boston Marathon at Back Bay section on Monday.

"Contrary to widespread reporting, no arrest has been made in connection with the Boston Marathon attack. Over the past day and a half, there have been a number of press reports based on information from unofficial sources that has been inaccurate," said the FBI in a statement.

"Since these stories often have unintended consequences, we ask the media, particularly at this early stage of the investigation, to exercise caution and attempt to verify information through appropriate official channels before reporting," the agency said.

The Boston Police informed that at about 2:50 pm on Monday (US time) two large explosions along the Boston Marathon route in the area of 673 Boylston Street shook the area which turned into a scene of blood and utter chaos.

While initially police confirmed two fatalities and over twenty injuries, soon the toll touched three and the figure of wounded was put at 144. An eight-year-old boy was killed.
