Panaji, Jan 31 (IBNS) Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has maintained secrecy over its senior leader Shripad Naik's entry in Goa politics in the upcoming state assembly elections on March 3.
BJP Vice President Venkaiah Naidu Tuesday said the central committee will decide on Shripad's issue.
"Shripad is our party leader and we all respect him. The issue is before the central committee which will meet on February 3," Naidu, who is in Goa to participate in the poll campaign, told reporters.
Three-time Lok Sabha MP, Shripad was most likely to contest from new Porvorim constituency but he was denied the ticket.
Responding to media questions, the national leader denied any tussle within the state party. He said party's chief minister candidate will be declared during manifesto release.
Commenting on the performance of the Congress-led coalition in the Centre, Naidu termed it a 'scam tainted' government.
"The government has brought shame to the country globally. It is full of scandals and corruption, and it is quite evident because they are refusing to name people who have got money in Swiss bank and other tax havens," he said.
