No water, power for 690 unsafe Delhi buildings

New Delhi: Orders have been passed to disconnect water and electricity supply to 690 buildings for non-compliance of fire safety norms, the Lok Sabha was told Tuesday.

Minister of State for Home M. Ramachandran said Delhi Fire Service had inspected 2,377 buildings in the capital to check if they followed fire safety measures.

A total of 527 buildings had been issued No Objection Certificate "from the fire safety point of view", the minister said in a written statement.
