U.S. President Barack Obama on Monday visited Myanmar and met country's President Thein Sein and democracy movement leader and Nobel Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi.
Pertinently, Obama became the first sitting US President to visit Myanmar.
Obama met Sein at Yangon´s regional parliament building.
"I´ve shared with him the fact that I recognise this is just the first steps on what will be a long journey," Obama told reporters after the meeting.
"But we think a process of democratic and economic reform here in Burma that has been begun by the president is one that can lead to incredible development opportunities," he said.
