Odisha: CEO arrested for Naxal links

Malkangiri, Odisha, Sept 16 (IBNS) The CEO of a Hyderabad based private firm along with other employees was arrested in Odisha for alleged involvement in supply of explosive materials to the Maoists in Malkangiri and other regions, reports said on Sunday.

According to media reports, the Odisha Police on Friday arrested the CEO and seven others whose construction company
was engaged in work in Odisha.

Reports said they were carrying "50 kg of explosives, Maoist literature and cell phones."

Reports said the arrested CEO is identified as A.Bhupal of Hyderabad based Lekcon Infrastructure Pvt Ltd.

Among the lethal materials seized were high intense explosives, timer bomb, Gel liquid packet, Pottasium Nitrate, Gelatine stick wires, etc.

The infrastructure firm was engaged in infrastructure development work in the Maoist zones of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh and police suspected they agreed to supply the materials to buy peace with the rebels and work in the region.
