A Salvation Army bell ringer whose red kettle was stolen last weekend is back on the job outside a northwest Ohio store.

Brenda Webb says she won't let the theft frighten her.

Police have charged Shawn Krieger of Toledo with swiping the kettle Saturday night. Webb told police that Krieger proclaimed he hated Christmas.

Webb, who's unemployed, returned to the same store in the Toledo suburb of Maumee (maw-MEE') on Tuesday to raise money for the charity.

The Salvation Army estimates the stolen kettle held $500 to $700. That money has not been recovered.

Webb says she hopes the suspect gets the help he needs.
