The Olympic Park Legacy Company has started taking bids for naming rights for major stadiums once the 2012 London Olympics are complete.

Andrew Altman, chief executive of the company, on Tuesday described it as a rare opportunity to associate a brand with venues that billions will see on television.

The Olympic Stadium will host the 2017 World Athletics Championships. The Aquatics Center, designed by famed architect Zaha Hadid, and another arena which will be used for handball, are likely to be top tourist attractions.

The company will take expressions of interest until next month. It will appoint sponsors for each venue in May.

The 2012 London Olympics take part from July 27-Aug. 12. The park will reopen to visitors in 2013.
