Talking sense

“A few years ago, if you told your friends that you listened to radio, you were ‘uncool’ and ‘outdated’. Today, radio is hip, totally with the times and any teenager would say, ‘it so rad’ [radical],” says RJ Nelson, a Loyolite and a diploma holder in film technology.

Nelson believes that observation—of life, people and things in general—is the best teacher. No surprise then that he loves talking to people! Well-spoken and a good conversationalist, Nelson cracks smart jokes and is what one would describe as a ‘nice guy’.

“Just talking on something doesn’t make you a radio jockey. You should talk sensibly,” says Nelson, who started his career as an RJ with FM Rainbow.

“I used to listen to radio in my childhood and my favourite was Thengachiko Swaminathan’s Intru Oru Thagaval aired by AIR years back,” he says.
