India's hockey captain Bharat Chetri was left crushed after the 3-0 defeat against Belgium at the Riverbank Arena in the Olympic Park on Tuesday. He spoke in an exclusive chat soon after the match. Excerpts:
Q: Bharat, this has been a disappointing finish?
A: Yes, very poor show and I never expected this. Even after we lost our first three games against Holland, Germany and New Zealand, we still had a good chance to win against Korea and Belgium and get a good placing. But we were not good enough.
Q: Did the team analyse its problems?
A: Yes, of course. Coach Nobbs has done his best, but we were not up to it. If we don't score goals what will the coach do? I think against Belgium, we played good hockey but we wasted so many chances. If you don't score goals, the confidence of the entire team goes down. That's what happened in every match. We didn't have the right body language in the Olympics.
Q: As skipper how did you motivate the team?
