Almost no one likes the US Congress, a Gallup poll has found.

Only 18 percent of American taking part in the poll had something positive to say about the US Congress.

According to the poll, Democrats were more likely to give Congress a thumbs-up, with a 24 percent approval rating, while 18 percent of Republicans and 14 percent of Independents liked the Capitol Hill's performance.

"Americans have been none too happy with their elected representatives in Washington for the past year and a half, and the current 18 percent job approval rating for Congress appears to reflect a continuation of this solidly negative view," The Politico quoted the Gallup analysis, as saying.

Approval for Congress had earlier briefly risen to 24 percent following the death of Osama Bin Laden in May.

According to Gallup, approval ratings for Congress hit an all-time low of 13 percent in December 2010.

The poll surveyed 1,016 adults between July 7 and 10, and had a margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points. (ANI)
