Bookstore chain from the Apeejay Surrendra group, Oxford Bookstores, on Monday announced its partnership with Tibor Jones South Asia Prize 2013 to be presented at the fourth edition of the Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival next year.
The Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival 2013 is slated from Jan 9 to Jan 13, 2013.
The literary prize is an initiative led by Tibor Jones & Associates, a London-based literary agency that represents bestselling authors such as Wilbur Smith and Rem Koolkaas with the support of the University of East Anglia (UAE) and the Charles Pick Fellowship (CPF), to support and encourage budding and unrepresented writers in the South Asian region.
Tibor Jones South Asia Prize 2013 winners will be felicitated at a special award ceremony on Jan 10, 2013 in Kolkata as part of the Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival 2013.
Martin Pick, Charles Pick Fellowship Chairman and TJSAP 2013 judge, said, " The intention of the prize is to nurture the literary community, and we can think of no better partners than these two beloved Kolkata institutions. We are truly proud to be associated with them."
Commenting on the association, Priti Paul, Director, Oxford Bookstores said, "We are, therefore, delighted to support the Tibor Jones South Asia Prize in its endeavour to promote and encourage emerging, unrepresented authors of South Asian origin. We congratulate them on the initiative, and are pleased to host the Award ceremony in Kolkata at our Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival in January 2013."
