2Day FM radio hosts Michael Christian and Mel Greig, who recently made headlines for making a hoax call to the hospital where Duchess Kate was being treated for severe morning sickness, have recorded tell-all interviews with Channels Seven and Nine that will be aired on Monday night, it has been revealed.
Rumours of the duo sharing their side of the international scandal with Channel Nine was sparked when host Tracy Grimshaw and executive producer Grant Williams were seen striding confidently through 2Day FM's inner-city headquarters.
The program then confirmed the interview on their twitter account saying "First interview with the #2dayfm djs just recorded with @TracyGrimshaw. It's raw and emotional. The full uncut interview at 6.30 tonight #aca9."
The radio duo had earlier told Grimshaw that they are "shattered" by the tragic death of British nurse Jacintha Saldanha and they never dreamed anyone at the hospital would take them seriously.
Speaking for the first time about the prank, the pair said that they are thinking of Saldanha's family.
"And I remember my first question was, was she a mother? I hope they're OK, I really do," the Herald Sun quoted Greig as saying.
"...there's not a minute that goes by where we don't think about her family and what they must be going through and the thought we may have played a part in that is gutwrenching," Greig said.
According to earlier reports, the duo had also filmed an interview for Channel 10's 'The Project', but one of the show's producers Tom Whitty tweeted that the pair were too distressed to be interviewed.
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) is expected to pick up its investigation into the furore after station management suspended all advertising from 2DayFM until Wednesday.
Communications Minister Stephen Conroy said they had received complaints about the prank call.
"They are considering fast-tracking the case," Senaor Conroy said. (ANI)
