Veteran Kolkata based painter Ganesh Haloi inaugurated his painting exhibition in Kolkata on Monday.
The exhibition, "Transcendental Rhythm of Reality", has 67 paintings of Haloi on display.
The exhibition will continue till Apr 5.
The paintings mostly comprise of pencil drawings in both portrait and landscape formats.
Haloi said, "The forms of the paintings are independent. Most of the drawings have been chiseled long time ago."
"When human beings can´t identify themselves with the world, they tend to break shackles and want to come out of the world. That is when they assume such forms, which are focused in the painting," he said.
Haloi, a retired Professor of of the Government College of Art and Craft, had received gold medal in painting by Academy of Fine Arts of Kolkata.
The pictorial renderings of Haloi are all set to take off a journey to Bangladesh soon. This body of works have been created specially for the show at Bengal Foundation in Dhaka this year.
Many well-known personalities from the fields of art and culture were present at the event.
The evening also witnessed art buyers from across the country.
