New Delhi, Dec 5 (IBNS) Defence Minister AK Antony on Wednesday said two infiltration bids from Pakistan side in Kashmir were foiled by the Indian Army in November.

In a written reply in Rajya Sabha, Antony said: "Two infiltration attempts were reported, one on 8.11.2012 and another on 13.11.2012 in Keran and Naugam Sectors respectively. Both attempts were foiled by the Army."

"Two terrorists were killed in each of these encounters. In the incident of 13th November, 2012 three jawans were martyred while two jawans were injured."

He said the Army is deployed along the Line of Control (LoC) to implement an effective counter infiltration strategy, which has an appropriate mix of technology and human resources put together to prevent infiltration effectively.

"Dynamic troop deployment, efficient use of surveillance monitoring devices and the LC fence have enhanced the ability to detect and intercept terrorists attempting to infiltrate / exfiltrate," said the minister.
