The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has warned the government of a severe backlash against false, exaggerated claim of having "broken the back" of the terror outfit.

The warning comes a day after Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that the government had rendered the TTP powerless with the help of effective anti-terrorism strategy, reports The Express Tribune.

Malik also reportedly said that that Pakistan is now moving towards the goal of 'durable peace', political and economic stability, urging the nation to unite for the sake of uprooting terrorism and militancy from the country.

The TTP also rejected demands for a ceasefire and advised those making such demands to call for a halt to air assaults in the tribal regions.

The statement by TTP spokesman, Ehsanullah Ehsan, said that the outfit had offered peace dialogue in the national interest but secular elements did not like their serious offer and have started making non-serious demands.

He said that certain elements are describing the TTP talks offer as a sign of weakness, as a consequence of which they might be compelled to respond in a fearsome manner. (ANI)
