Pakistan PM sacks Secretary of Defence

Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilan on Wednesday sacked Secretary of Defence Lt-Gen Naeem Khalid Lodhi (retd) for alleged 'misconduct', media reports said.

According to local media, the government said Lodhi was sacked for alleged ´misconduct´ and for taking ´illegal´ steps.

Cabinet Secretary Nargis Sethi will be taking the additional charge of the Ministry of Defence after Lodhi´s removal from the post.

Lodhi assumed the charge in November.
