New Delhi, Sept 20 (IBNS) With fellow social activist Arvind Kejriwal all set to float his political party, former IPS officer Kiran Bedi said Indian's will now have two 'good' options to fight corruption.
"Two paths but one common goal. People have two good options now. And can support both. People win!" Bedi tweeted.
However, she said there was no need for the anti-corruption movement turning political.
"What is the compulsion to float a party?" she said on Thursday, adding that she will ´never go political´.
Earlier on Wednesday, Bedi said she felt Kejriwal was expecting anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare to support his political party.
"Feel Anna was being expected to support political option when he was never inclined. Was it a case of misjudgement on the part of some?" Bedi posted on Twitter.
A day after the now disbanded Team Anna split into two factions, Kejriwal on Thursday said the decision taken by Anna was ´shocking´.
"We respect Annaji. He is like a father figure. The decision he took yesterday was shocking and unexpected," Kejriwal told reporters on Thursday.
Anna refused to support Kejriwal´s political ambitions.
Anna on Wednesday met fellow activists for long hours in New Delhi to discuss future strategies of their anti-corruption movement.
Clarifying the divide in the team, he said Kejriwal faction should no longer use his photos and name.
"Both of us have chosen separate paths," Anna told reporters after the meeting.
"I will not be a part of any political process," he said.
Key members of the now disbanded Team Anna - Prashant Bhushan, Arvind Kejriwal, Kiran Bedi, Santosh Hegde, Kumar Vishwas and Manish Sisodia- attended the meeting.
Anna reportedly met yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Wednesday night in the national capital.
Kejriwal on Aug spelled out the decision to form a political party.
Anna on the other hand has repeatedly said he would never contest elections.
