
Australian bowlers dominated the first day of the Third Test match against India as the visitors were bowled out at 161 runs in their first innings, here on Friday.
Australia scored 149 runs without losing a single wicket in their first innings at the end of the first day´s play.
D Warner (104*) hit a brilliant century to give his side the much needed momentum in the game. He received good support from E Cowan (40*) on the other end of the crease.
Indian bowlers failed to pick a single wicket on the day and struggled like the Indian batsmen.
Warner has hit 13 boundaries and 3 sixes in the innings so far.
Both the openers will resume the proceedings on Saturday morning.
The home side trail India by 12 runs.
Earlier, Australian fast bowler BW Hilfenhaus ripped through the Indian line-up and scalped four wickets in the innings.
G Gambhir (31) V Kohli (44) and VVS Laxman (31) tried to give some amount of resistance to the hosts but lost their wickets at crucial junctures of the game to allow Australia dominate the match.
