Debjani Mitra, daughter of renowned elocutionist Partha Pratim Mitra, is all set to release her first album 'Ananya' to show her respect to her father.
The album is a compilation of fifteen poems, out of which ten was recorded by veteran Tollywood actor Soumitra Chatterjee, four read out by elocutionist Bratati Bandapadhyay and one poem by Mitra herself.
Soumitra Chatterjee and Bratati Bandapadhyay's recording for the album happened at Dhun studio here on Monday afternoon.
Mitra said, " Ananya highlights human emotions that are losing its values in this fast paced society. Moreover, they also reflect women power and sacrifices made by the fairer sex."
She asserted, "The poems are like shades of women-hood, adoption and friendship which are neglected nowadays."
"For Soumitra and Bratati known for their immaculate recitation of poetry written by the gems of Bengal like Rabindranath Tagore, Kaji Najrul Islam, Sukumar Roy and Shankha Ghosh this is something new."
This is perhaps the first time they are reciting poems penned by a new member, said Mitra.
Music Maestro Kalyan Sen Barat composed the music for this album.
