Bugti: Court directs to produce Musharraf

Islamabad: The Islamabad police is reportedly awaiting opinion from its legal branch in order to file a 'murder case' against former President Pervez Musharraf during the alleged Lal Masjid operation.

Station House Officer of Aabpara Police Station, Qasim Niazi said that the police is serious to register a case against Musharraf for killing Allama Abdur Rashid Ghazi and his mother during the Lal Masjid operation but they can't proceed further until they receive advice from their legal branch, The Nation reports.

According to the report, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed the police to register a case against Musharraf; however, Niazi is not the final authority to implement court's orders and is bound to get orders from his higher authorities to proceed further.

Sources said that high-ups of Islamabad police were waiting for newly appointed Inspector General of Islamabad Police Sikander Hayat to take charge and decide himself about the issue, the report added.
