New Delhi, May 19 (IBNS) There was some relief for Australian cricketer Luke Pomesrbach as he was granted bail on Saturday in a molestation case by a Delhi court.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) player was arrested before being released on an interim bail of one day on Friday.

He appeared before the Patiala House Court on Saturday and Metropolitan Magistrate Navita Kumari Bagha gave him bail on a surety of Rs 30,000.

The court also directed Pomersbach not to approach the complainant woman.

He will have to surrender his passport.

The Delhi Police showed CCTV footage to the Metropolitan Magistrate.

The court had asked Delhi Police to submit visuals of CCTV cameras installed inside the five-star hotel along with the medical report of the victim´s fiance and Pomersbach.

"I am innocent and it´s a conspiracy," the Australian cricketer said in the court.

The 27-year-old cricketer was arrested Friday morning on charges of assaulting an American citizen Zohal Hameed in a five-star hotel in the capital and beating up her fiance, Sahil Peerzada, who is still recuperating in ICU in hospital.

The incident took place after an IPL party late Thursday night after Royal Challengers had won their match against Delhi Daredevils.

Pomersbach had his share of controversies in the past as well. In 2007, Pomersbach and Shaun Marsh, who plays for Kings XI Punjab in IPL, were suspended for breaking team rules by embarking on a drinking session in the lead-up to a crucial fixture against South Australia.

Pomersbach nearly escaped jail term in 2009, when he tried to resist arrest after being involved in two hit-and-run incidents while driving over the blood-alcohol limit.

Later he escaped a jail term despite pleading guilty to six charges that also included assaulting a police officer, escaping custody and drink-driving.
