Ponty murder: BJP expels Namdhari

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday expelled former chairman of the Uttarakhand Minorities Commission Sukhdev Singh Namdhari following his arrest in connection to the shootout that killed liquor baron Ponty Chadha and his brother Hardeep, reports said.

A Delhi Court on Saturday sent Namdhari to five-day police custody in connection with the shootout that killed Ponty and Hardeep.

The Delhi Police told the court that the small-time BJP leader was the main conspirator in the shootout at Chattarpur farmhouse in south Delhi on Nov 17.

The police has booked him under murder charges.

The police told the court that Namdhari had shot at Hardeep during the shootout.

The police on Friday arrested him after questioning him at his farmhouse at Bazpur city in Uttarakhand.

Ponty and his brother Hardeep were killed in a shootout between their groups inside their farmhouse at Chattarpur in south Delhi on Nov 17.
