Kolkata, Jan 3 (IBNS) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, this being the first meeting of the two leaders post their 'FDI split' over three months ago.
Banerjee shared the same stage with Singh at the 100th session of Indian Science Congress at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Thursday morning where both of them exchanged pleasantries.
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo sat beside the veteran Congress leader and both were seen smiling and speaking to each other in-between speeches.
President Pranab Mukherjee was also present on the dais.
Last September, Banerjee withdrew support to the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government over the issue of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) policy in multi-brand retail and diesel price hiking, reducing the government into a minority.
TMC with 19 MPs was UPA´s second biggest constituent and the biggest ally of the Congress party which spearheads the government.
