New Delhi, Aug 18 (IBNS) President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh greeted the Parsi community in India on the occasion of Navroz (Parsi New Year) that is being celebrated on Saturday.
In his message, Mukherjee said: "On the occasion of Navroz, I offer my warm greetings and good wishes to all my Parsi brothers and sisters."
"Parsis are a small but important community whose members have made immense contribution to India's prosperity and welfare. Navroz celebrations symbolize our composite culture."
"May this festival, which celebrates the coming of the new and passing away of the old bring people across the country closer together and reinforce our commitment to communal harmony, amity and goodwill towards all," he said.
In his message, the Prime Minister said that Navroz symbolizes new beginnings and is seen as harbinger of peace and prosperity.
"The festival reminds us of the rich diversity and inclusiveness of our culture," Singh said.
