New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee had rejected the mercy plea of Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone Pakistani terrorist involved in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks who was hanged Wednesday morning, a few weeks ago, said an official.
"The president had rejected the mercy petition of Kasab a few weeks back. I can't give you the exact date," Venu Rajamony, the president's press secretary, said.
Kasab, who was hanged at Pune's Yerawada Jail Wednesday morning, was amongst the 10 Pakistani terrorists who sneaked into Mumbai on the night of Nov 26, 2008.
The Nov 26−29, 2008 terror siege had killed 166 people and injured 300.
