Prince William and wife Kate have called in the Bug Squad to sweep their private palace apartments for spy devices.
Extra checks have been made on the multi-million pound security system, bedrooms and living areas at Kensington Palace.
According to the Daily Star, special agents were called in over concerns of terrorists or Middle Eastern assassins.
Workmen have been renovating the palace and experts fear they could have planted bugs or pinpointed weaknesses in the alarm system.
A royal aide said that the rooms were being swept at routine intervals with a combination of daily, weekly and monthly sweeps.
The aide said that information about security precautions may have been leaked so the system has to be constantly checked to see it is working properly.
The aide said that someone could plant a bug and use that to listen to what Kate and William are saying to find out their movements.
Kate and Wills, both 30, have undergone kidnap training with the SAS so they know what to do in a terror situation, the report said.
The royal couple id due to move into the palace next year, the report added. (ANI)
