Congress Member of Parliament (MP) Priya Dutt on Friday complained that she was not consulted by her party in the process of selection and ticket distribution to the candidates in her constituency for the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections.
Dutt, sister of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, said that she was angry by the fact that the names of the candidates for the Mumbai municipal polls were not revealed to her.
She said that she felt ´insulted´ by the behaviour of the party.
"If you are going to insult a MP like this then do not involve the MP in the process at all," she said.
The poll is scheduled to take place on Feb 16.
Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are currently ruling the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
