Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) on Friday hosted a digital media summit - 'Engage 2013 the Kolkata Chapter' - in Kolkata.
"After a huge success of 2012 summit, we are back together in Engage 2013 and hope to continue the trend in future," said Chairman, PRSI Kolkata Chapter, Narendra Ranjan Mukherjee in his welcome speech.
This event would continue to showcase the big changes and their likely impacts, the innovations and the new opportunities unleashed by the trinity of digital media - social networks, mobility devices and high speed connectivity, he said.
The agenda of the Kolkata chapter was to promote professionalism and also encourages study and research on public relations with a prime focus on new media, Mukherjee added.
While delivering a presentation on ´Every Business is a Social Business´ through online video session, Senior Vice-President of IPG Mediabrands, Eric Weaver said that India can avoid early mistakes of western world when it comes to social media market.
The two-day summit was being held at ITC Sonar on June 21 and June 22 in presence of various corporate heads from all over the nation.
Media presentations on various topics like building brands on social media, future of innovation in social media era, social media and crisis communications technology, disruptive communication etc., would be delivered by the corporate faces.
