Pune, Nov 7 (IBNS) Pune FC youngsters Rushab Dhere and Soham Kathuria have been shortlisted for the India Under-17 coaching camp at Goa.

The duo groomed by Pune FC was summoned by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to join the camp with immediate effect. Both players reached the costal state on Wednesday.

For Pune FC, the duo's selection is a second instance in its history.

Earlier, midfielder Ajinkya Desai was shortlisted and went on to be selected in the India Under-17 side that played in the AFC Championship Qualifiers at Al-Ain (Abu Dhabi) in October 2009.

For city-based Kolhapur-born Rushab, and New Delhi-born Soham, the India camp call up is a first after having played four seasons (includes the current 2012-13 season) in the Under-15 and 17 sections respectively.

Guided by Ranjan Chowdhury, Head of Youth Development Peninsula Pune Football Club Academy (PPFCA), the players will join the camp supervised by Colm Toal, AIFF's Chief Coach Youth Development.

Rushab, of late, has shown great promise and earned his place on the Indian squad that played the FC Bayern Munich Youth Cup apart from being shortlisted to train at the Manchester United Soccer Schools.

In both instances, Rushab made his way up through the all-India selection trials conducted by scouts of both clubs respectively.

Likewise, Soham has shown tremendous promise in the position.

"I am excited and have no words to express about this unexpected call up," said Rushab.

Likewise, Soham had similar sentiments.

"It's a dream come true for me. This is unexpected and I am out to put my best foot forward," said Soham.

On their selection, Ranjan Chowdhury said, "Both Rushab and Soham are exciting prospects at Pune FC. I am happy the players' hard work has been recognized.

"It indeed is a proud moment for Pune FC. The India camp will give them first-hand experience among a bigger pool of players drawn from all over India."
