Pune rampage: Bus driver's face devoid of emotion, says witness

Pune: 'His face was devoid of any emotion,' said a college student who witnessed the mayhem unleashed by a rogue bus driver here who blindly sped through busy streets, killing nine people and injuring over two dozen on Wednesday morning.

'I saw him knocking down a woman, then a man. I ran after the bus. Police were also pursuing him,' Sharif Ibrahim Kutty told reporters here.

He said he had never seen 'anything so horrible' in his life. He said there was no trace of aggression on the driver's face.

'Two policemen on a motorbike fired at the bus to try to bring it to a halt but the bullets missed the tyres. The bus ran over the policemen and broke through the police barricade,' Kutty said.
