External Affairs Minister S M Krishna on Wednesday said Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi should join the government and help in solving several problems faced by the country.
"I am one of those who feel that it´s necessary for Rahul Gandhi to come into the government and help the government in solving many problems the country faces," Krishna told reporters on Wednesday.
"We always welcome Rahul Gandhi´s involvement in the government," Krishna said.
"The Prime Minister´s invitation is there to join the government but he himself seems to be not inclined at the moment," he said.
The Union Cabinet is likely to have a reshuffle in the upcoming days with two senior ministers resigning from it on Tuesday.
Union Progressive Alliance (UPA)´s Presidential candidate Pranab Mukherjee resigned from the post of Union Finance Minister on Tuesday to contest the upcoming Presidential election on July 19.
Virbhadra Singh also resigned from the Union Cabinet on Tuesday following framing of corruption charges against him and his wife Pratibha Singh in an old case.
