New Delhi, Dec 11 (IANS) It was a wet Tuesday morning in the capital Tuesday with light rains accompanied by nippy winds. The minimum temperature though was three notches above average at 11.5 degrees Celsius.
"Despite the rains, the minimum temperature is above average due to the cloudy weather," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD said the rains were a result of western disturbances over Jammu and Kashmir and that showers would continue through the day.
"The skies will remain cloudy and more rains are expected during the day. The maximum temperature will be around 26 degrees Celsius," added the IMD official.
Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 89 percent.
Monday's maximum temperature was four notches above average at 28.1 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was a notch above average at 9.4 degrees Celsius.
