Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh's recent remark that there are more temples in the country than toilets figured in Rajya Sabha on Monday.
Shiv Sena member Sanjay Raut raised the issue through a written question that whether the Minister's remark 'Toilets are more important in India than temples' have irked many people.
He also sought to know that whether it is a fact that it makes little sense to compare temples and toilets and what measures government is taking to sooth feelings of those visiting temples.
"The Ministry of Rural Development has not received any report in this regard," Minister of State for Rural Development Pradeep Jain 'Aditya' said in his written reply.
The other two questions were not entertained.
