Ranji Trophy: Delhi score 235

Openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir failed to score significant runs with their bats as Delhi were all out for 235 runs on day one of their Ranji Trophy match against Uttar Pradesh at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here on Friday.

Sehwag scored 25 runs while Gambhir returned to the pavilion after contributing 32 runs in the first innings.

Unmukt Chand (28) Virat Kohli (14) dissapointed their fans with the willows.

Puneet Bisht remained the top scorer for Delhi with his 52 runs while Mithun Manhas contributed 42 runs.

Imtiaz Ahmed made five wickets for Uttar Pradesh by giving away 59 runs.

Seamer Praveen Kumar scalped three wickets in the innings.

Uttar Pradesh scored 40 runs for the loss of one wicket at stumps.

Delhi´s Ishant Sharma picked up the wicket of Tanmay Srivastava (18).

Mukul Dagar (18*) and Mohammad Kaif (3*) will resume proceedings on Saturday.
