Rape case against arrested BSP MP

New Delhi, Nov 14 (IBNS) A rape case has been filed against Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Dhananjay Singh, who is in judicial custody in connection with the murder of his domestic help, reports said on Thursday.

According to reports, a 42-year-old married woman has alleged that the MP from from Uttar Pradesh´s Jaunpur raped her. She has lodged an official complaint in this regard.

A Delhi court on Monday remanded Dhananjay Singh and his wife Dr Jagriti Singh to four days´ judicial custody in connection with the murder of their maid.

A Delhi court on Nov 6 remanded Dhananjay Singh and Jagriti Singh to police custody for five days.

"The alleged offences are of very serious nature. The accused persons have been arrested on Tuesday and for the recovery of the case property and in aid of the investigation, five days police custody remand is desirable," the court ruled on Nov 6.

The police on Nov 5 arrested Jagriti Singh for allegedly murdering the domestic help, after the maid was found dead under mysterious circumstances.

The MP was also arrested for destructing evidence related to the murder case.

The police registered a First Information Report (FIR) under IPC Sections 302 (murder) and 307 (attempt to murder) before arresting Jagriti Singh.

The woman was working at Dhananjay Singh´s residence for the past 10 months.

She had injuries on her head, chest, stomach and arms.

According to reports, Dhananjay Singh´s wife allegedly tortured the domestic help.
