Bangalore: A French diplomat who was arrested after being charged with raping his three-and-a-half year-old daughter in Bangalore in June this year got bail on Wednesday.
Pascal Mazurier, against whom the allegation of raping his daughter was brought by his Indian wife Suja Jones, was arrested on June 19.
Mazurier is a Consular Attache to Consulate General of France in Bangalore.
He had moved the Karnataka High Court on Aug 7 for bail after his petition for the same was rejected by a Fast Track Court in July. In his petition he had said that that the DNA report in the case was inconclusive.
Mazurier was not given any diplomatic immunity by India.
After the complaint by his wife, Pascal Mazurier was first detained for questioning and then put under arrest.
According to his wife, Mazurier "raped" their daughter on June 13 this year when he was with the child inside a locked bedroom for several hours.
