The Garden at Rashtrapati Nilayam, Bolarum, Secunderabad will be opened for public viewing for seven days from January 6 to 12, 2013, each day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Rashtrapati Nilayam premises comprises landscaped garden, different seasonal flowering plants and display of potted plants around the main building, natural cascading water falls and seven different types of Nutrition Gardens of Mango, Sapota, Pomegranate, Guava, Amla, Coconut and Cheeku.
A herbal Garden in the premises of the Rashtrapati Nilayam has 116 species of medicinal and aromatic plants like Sarpgandha, Kalabandha, Citronella, Lemon grass, Khus, Geranium, Coriander, Sandalwood, Tuber rose, Jasmine, Kalmegh, Tulsi, etc.
The Garden is located in an area of about 7000 sq. mtrs. Several measures have been taken for conservation of rain water in Rashtrapati Nilayam to improve ground water sustainability. (ANI)
