Union Water Resources Minister Harish Rawat on Tuesday said that the UPA government is ready to face no-confidence motion as its all ally partners and supporting parties are intact with the government.
Taking on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rawat alleged that it's all BJP propaganda to gain political mileage at the cost of other political outfit on the name of no-confidence motion.
"We are not afraid about numbers in the house, if anyone capable of bringing no-confidence motion, we are ready to face that. And we believe that amid Gujarat assembly elections, no party will try to take to benefit Narendra Modi. It's all BJP propaganda," said Rawat.
"We debate and discuss in parliament according to the rules and regulations. But, voting after debate on an executive order of the government is not a tradition of our parliamentary system. So, all the political parties have to be very careful that they not initiate such tradition, which can be harmful for our democracy in future," he added.
BJP's parliamentary committee meeting will take place today to decide their move in the upcoming Winter Session of parliament starting form November 22.
However, Trinamool Congress (TMC) president and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had earlier on Saturday announced that her party would bring a no confidence motion against the UPA Government during the Winter Session.
While the Communist Party of India-Marxist made it clear that the party will not support TMC's motion as it will only benefit the Congress-led UPA Government. (ANI)
