The Revolutionary People's Front claims responsibility for three three recent bomb blasts and gun attacks which claimed the life of one security person and injured several others.
In the first explosion, on a public works department convoy, one security personnel and several others were injured.
A victim, Manoj Singh said, "We were escorting the team which was on an official visit to Moreh. It was at around 8 when they started firing. We exchanged fire for more than half-an-hour. Almost all of us were injured and one of our colleagues died."
Four hours later, suspected insurgents also exploded a powerful bomb attached to a vehicle at the roadside at Sekmai area in Imphal West district, injuring three CRPF personnel and four civilians.
Wangpum Kasar MPS, SDPO, Lamphel said, "3 CRPF jawans were injured and 3 civilians were also injured. They all sustained minor injuries. The intensity of the blast was very powerful, and it seems like an IED was used, after observing the splinters. (ANI)
