New Delhi, March 7 (IANS) India sees Romania as a partner for political consultations and enhanced economic cooperation, Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar said Thursday while welcoming a parliamentary delegation from the east European nation.
"India sees in Romania a partner for purposive political consultations and enhanced economic cooperation," she said, interacting with a parliamentary delegation headed by Romanian Foreign Minister Titus Corlatean.
The speaker expressed hope that the visit would impart a fresh impetus to Indian-Romanian relations.
"India values warm and friendly relations with Romania which go back to more than 60 years in modern times. Both countries share a number of values as fellow democracies, which have a converging impact on a host of global issues," she said.
