​Rs 10 lakh cash recovered from train passenger

Gorakhpur: The Government Railway Police on Tuesday recovered unaccounted Rs 10 lakh cash and jewellry worth Rs 2.5 lakh from a train passenger here, officials said.

Hari Narain, a resident of West Champaran in Bihar, was detained from Saptakranti Express after he failed to produce relevant documents regarding the amount, they said.

The case has been handed over to Income Tax department and the money has been deposited in the treasury.
