Lucknow: There was chaos inside the Uttar Pradesh assembly on Thursday as the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLAs raised slogans against the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party (SP) Government over the Kumbh stampede, and stopped Governor B.L. Joshi from addressing the joint session of Parliament.
Taking on the Samajwadi Party Government to task over the Kumbh stampede, the irate BSP MLAs said that the law and order has collapsed in the state.
The BSP legislators, who disrupted the Governor's address, also threw paper balls at him to vent their ire.
Uttar Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was also present in the assembly today when the BSP legislators protested against the lawlessness in the state.
At least 36 people lost their lives and over 40 others got injured in the stampede that broke out at the Allahabad railway station on Sunday night.
