Rupee drops 14 paise against US dollar

The Indian rupee slipped down by 14 paise to stand at Rs 52.85 against the US dollar in early trade on the Interbank Foreign Exchange on Monday.

The Indian money fell due to a lower opening in the domestic equity market, according to reports.

Moreover, the gains made by US dollar against euro and other Asian currencies overseas brought more troubles to the Indian rupee.

In the last weekend, rupee had closed at 52.71/72 per dollar.

The BSE Sensex dropped by 90.19 points, or 0.57 percent, to stand at 15,758.61 in opening trade on Monday.
