Lambi: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Prakash Singh Badal has said the SAD-BJP alliance has always worked efficiently to strengthen law and order in Punjab.
"Our victory in the assembly elections of Punjab is due to two reasons. Firstly, it is because of the strong BJP-SAD alliance that has fortified the state and has ensured peace and progress in the state. Secondly, is the state's development that opened eyes of voters across the state and instilled faith in our governance," Badal told media here.
"The public had full faith in us and reciprocated it in the form of votes in these elections. We have fulfilled all their promises and would do so in the future," he added.
He further promised to carry forward the development agenda.
"I make a promise to the people of Punjab that we would continue to work for their socio-economic development ," said Badal.
Criticising the Congress, Badal called it as corrupt and inefficient to deal with problems of militancy, inflation and youth unemployment.
"The Congress Party is the most corrupt party. There is no sense of social security under its governance at the federal level also. Militant attacks have also increased in our country because of their governance. There is no sense of law and order. Social evils like inflation and unemployment are increasing day-by-day," said Badal.
The SAD-BJP combine shocked the Congress by defying the expected anti-incumbency factor
As per Election Commission figures, the SAD-BJP combine had won 68 of the 117 seats with the SAD securing 56 seats and the BJP 12 seats. The Congress won 46 seats, while others won three.
