New Delhi, Jan 12 (IBNS) Indian top badminton player Saina Nehwal beat Chinese Taipei's Shao Chieh Cheng to reach the quarterfinal of the Malaysian Super Series in Kuala Lumpur Thursday.
According to information received here, the fourth seeded Indian beat Cheng 21-19 21-8 in a 31-minute match in women´s singles.
Saina, world No.4 next faces, two-time All England champion Tine Baun of Denmark on Friday.
Saina made a slow start against Shao Cheng, who led throughout the first game before losing it at the end as Saina bagged six straight points to zoom from 15-19 to pocket the game.
Saina maintained her domination in second game and didn´t give any chance to her opponent.
Saina had also reached the quarterfinals last week at the Korea Open.
