Hyderabad: The Satya Sai Trust will take up the phase-2 water supply scheme to provide drinking water to 118 habitations in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh.
At a high-level review meeting here today, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy approved the project and asked the state rural water supply department to act as the nodal agency for its implementation.
The cost of the project has not been disclosed.
The Chief Minister also approved release of 0.164 tmc ft of water from the Chitravati Balancing Reservoir for the district.
Under the phase-1, the Trust has been supplying drinking water to 732 habitations in the drought-hit Anantapur district, a press release from the CMO said.
The Satya Sai Trust also provides water supply in Medak, Mahbubnagar, East and West Godavari districts, the release added.
Municipal Administration Minister M Maheedhar Reddy, Chief Secretary Pankaj Dwivedi and other senior officials attended the meeting.
